Porto, Portugal and Santa Marta, Colombia – March 20th, 2017: IncBio, a leading Portuguese engineering company specializing in fully automated ultrasonic biodiesel plants, is proud to announce the successful delivery of an 80,000 MT/year biodiesel plant to Biocosta Green Energy S.A. in Santa Marta, Colombia. This state-of-the-art facility is the first in the country to feature biodiesel distillation, ensuring the highest purity and quality of biodiesel produced from crude palm oil.
The plant utilizes locally sourced palm oil blended with Palm Acid Oil (PAO) and Palm Fatty Acid Distillate (PFAD) with up to 25% Free Fatty Acids (FFA), and employs IncBio’s advanced solid catalyst technology for acid esterification, ultrasonic reactors in all steps, and dry wash purification using Ion Exchange resin. The result is a premium-grade biodiesel, which Biocosta has dubbed “gold biodiesel” due to its superior quality, clarity, and performance.
José Marques, CEO of IncBio, commented: “We are thrilled to deliver this groundbreaking biodiesel plant, the only one in Colombia with distillation technology. By integrating our ultrasonic technology at every stage, we’ve ensured that Biocosta’s plant not only meets but exceeds the highest industry standards for biodiesel quality. This facility is a benchmark for efficiency and sustainability in biodiesel production, making it a true leader in the market.”
With this plant, Biocosta Green Energy can produce biodiesel that surpasses the strict EN14214 and ASTM D6751 standards, positioning it as a key player in the renewable energy sector in Colombia. The innovative design, which includes full distillation of biodiesel, guarantees that the plant produces the purest possible biodiesel, enhancing both its performance and value.
This delivery marks another milestone for IncBio as it continues to lead in the biodiesel technology space, bringing cutting-edge solutions to clients across the globe. The plant’s start-up is scheduled for the coming months, and it is expected to play a pivotal role in sustainable fuel production in Colombia.
