Dewaxing or Winterisation

The dewaxing process, also known as winterisation, is commonly used in the vegetable oil industry in order to remove waxes from certain oils (sunflower and rice bran oil) which make the oil appear cloudy, and it is a requirement in order for these oils to be used for food or other applications.

The process implies heating the oil to ensure it is fluid, and then cooling it down until the waxes crystalize and can be removed through filtration. Once properly dewaxed the oil remains clear even at very low temperatures. IncBio offers modular dewaxing solutions to fit your needs.
