IncBio has secured an order for the supply of an 8,000MT/year High FFA Biodiesel Plant from Green Energy Group Limited in Hong Kong

Porto, Portugal and Hong Kong SAR, – February 28, 2013: Incbio, a leading Portuguese engineering company, who specializes in state of the art fully automated industrial ultrasonic Biodiesel plants, has signed a contract with Biofuel Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Green Energy Group Limited, a public company whose shares are listed on the main board of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited, to supply an 8,000MT per year Biodiesel plant, to be installed in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.

It will incorporate Incbio’s ultrasonic reactors, as well as solid catalyst acid esterification technology, to produce Biodiesel from Grease Trap Oil (aka Brown Grease) with up to 100% FFA, collected from municipal wastewater treatment plants, local councils and waste grease collectors in Malaysia. This will be one of the most advanced Biodiesel plants in the world, utilizing technology that is both innovative and widely proven in Biodiesel production plants globally.

Incbio has recently introduced solid catalyst technology for acid esterification of high FFA feedstock into its plants, result of many years of research by one of the leading chemical manufacturers in the world and widely proven in industrial applications. Incbio and Green Energy Group expect the plant to be complete during the summer of 2013.

High FFA Feedstock

José Marques, Incbio’s CEO, said: “We have worked closely with Green Energy Group in the technology selection and are extremely happy to have been given the opportunity to assist them in their expansion plans, which will see the company becoming one of the leading biodiesel players in the Asian market over the next couple of years.

This order is further proof that by ensuring complete flexibility of feedstock, our company is bringing the biodiesel industry what it desperately needs: by using our heterogeneous catalyst based multi-feedstock technology, industrial units are able to convert a wide range of raw materials into high quality Biodiesel, exceeding the strict standards of EN14214 and ASTM D6751.”

The plant will be able to process any type of animal fat or vegetable oil refinery waste, but is intended to process mainly Grease Trap Oil, a waste product which is currently being landfilled by municipalities, meaning waste is turned into a valuable commodity, biodiesel, whilst performing a service to the environment.

As long as the appropriate pre-treatment of the feedstock is carried out, the plant will run seamlessly, from 1 year up to 3 years without replacing the catalyst. Jerry Yip, Green Energy Group’s Chairman, said: “After months of research into solid catalyst esterification technologies carried out by our in-house engineers, Incbio proved instrumental in helping bring our project to fruition. We were impressed by the quality of their plants and professional attitude. We are delighted to have closed a deal with Incbio, the company has shown to be extremely knowledgeable, helpful and is definitely the right partner to support our expansion plans. Over the coming years we will be installing several of these plants in Asia and our main target is ensuring our plants work seamlessly and efficiently, producing second generation biodiesel in accordance with the highest international standards.”

About Green Energy Group Limited

As long ago as October 2008 Green Energy Group began to pursue activities in the renewable energy sector and more specifically the production of biodiesel from feedstock comprising used cooking oil, grease trap oil, waste animal fat and vegetable oil refinery waste.   To that end, the group has been engaged for many years in sourcing and securing different types of feedstock in different countries in South East Asia with a view to making the production of biodiesel from the waste stream a commercially viable business venture.

The group has recently secured an established feedstock supply-chain network in Malaysia that enjoys strong support from the Malaysian government and decided to engage in the operation of a biodiesel production facility that has just been constructed in Kuala Lumpur. Equipped with a stable supply of feedstock from waste streams, the group expects to be able to take the production of biodiesel to the next higher level throughout South East Asia.
